Anna Amigó takes you through the rich world of traditional Catalan music and storytelling, focusing in particular on the role of women: young girls, mothers (in law)... She gives them a prominent voice through her compositions. She sings and narrates their emotions and thoughts, and illustrates the life of the women in these stories. Unlike traditional songs, often very repetitive, Anna creates a rich and varied musical atmosphere in perfect harmony with her stories.
THE ALBUM SANG DE DONA
Sang de Dona (from Catalan Women’s blood) is the first solo album of the Catalan harper and singer Anna Amigó.
Anna has been digging deep into the Catalan folk song book to present this remarkable album, consisting of 12 carefully selected and reworked songs.
The title ‘Sang de Dona’ and the album art strongly hint to themes of women's empowerment, matrilineality and women’s daily trials and tribulations. When listening to the album, you get fully immersed with Anna’s way of bringing these resilient female protagonists to life and empowering them. She masterfully transforms the traditional, repetitive songs into modern, gripping story telling full of emotion, drama and excitement.
Musically, both Anna’s clear voice and unconventional way of playing the harp, sometimes calm and melodic, other times tumultuous or apotheotic, reinforce the story lines and charge the songs with emotion. The created atmospheres are emphasized even more by using diverse techniques such as using the harp as a percussion instrument, hitting the strings, imitating an electric base,…

REBROTAR (Regrow)
A musical piece that explains the process of separation between people and nature. From its origins in perfect harmony to a confused present. How suddenly, pushed by social evolution, we can find ourselves trapped in a system that no longer respects natural rhythms, people, or food. How these rhythms keep calling us day after day and what happens when we realize that we need to resynchronize with our environment.

ENYOR
"Enyor" ("Sorrow"). A poetic stage event that talks about the feeling of emptiness and longing when someone close to you passes away, a situation that leaves us without answers and with a lot of questions. Grief is awakened in us and over time transforms into nostalgia, which when shared in community makes us feel alive, supported and in the present.
Music, dance and word accompany us on a poetic, vibrant and intimate journey.
Original idea, text and interpretation: Irene Benavent
Harp, voice and musical composition: Anna Amigó
Set DJ and sound: Dj Ecléctico
Enyor has won the 3rd price of best activity in the Spanish cemeteries 2024
